Walk & Wag 2017 presented by Mojo's Backyard

Be A Humane Hero for Local Animals in Need!

2017 Walk & Wag

You're invited to join us in a fundraising and educational initiative for the homeless pets of Tallahassee and beyond. At Walk & Wag, we offer everyone the opportunity to step forward and become… a Humane Hero!

At Walk & Wag, animal lovers are empowered to help and protect the pets they love.

Experience fun and educational Humane Hero Missions that aim to teach people of all ages how to handle common situations with animals that are in need of assistance. From the family pet to the cat wandering onto a doorstep or the dog found on the side of the road, this event is designed to give our community the knowledge and tools to make a difference in the lives of local animals.

Experience a day of fun for the whole family (including your pets!) at the picturesque Southwood Central Lake Park on Sunday, October 22nd from 3pm to 7pm.

Highlights include:

  • Teach-n-Treat for all ages with our Humane Hero Missions
  • Meet a colorful cast of Heroes
  • Build your very own Humane Hero Kit with a limited edition Walk & Wag backpack

2 Ways to Participate: Share Your "Rescue Tail" or Nominate a Local Humane Hero

Did you rescue your pet? Did your pet rescue you? Do you know someone in our community who has been a force for good in the lives of local pets in need? Create a fundraising team and share your personal “Rescue Tail” or nominate a local Humane Hero for their work!

Winners in each of the three categories below get their pet featured as a superhero on the 2018 limited edition LCHS waterbottle!

  • Philanthropists By Day... Awarded to the team that raises the most dollars for homeless pets.
  • United Fur Justice! Awarded to the team with the most members.
  • Best Origin Story. Awarded to the team with the most moving rescue story.

All funds raised from Walk & Wag will go toward the veterinary care and special needs of our animals, as well as the overall operation of our organization and ongoing programs.

Option 1: Share your "Rescue Tail"
  • Create a team page under our online fundraising event on Crowdrise.com.
  • Include the story of how you rescued your pet or how they rescued you.
  • Share your fundraising page link with friends, family, everyone! Encourage them to join your team, to donate and to share their own rescue stories. You might win a prize, and homeless animals in our community win with each new team member, donation, and share!
Option 2: Nominate a Local Humane Hero.
  • Do you know a person or pet who has made a difference in our community? An exceptional therapy pet? A first responder with a heart for animals? A friend or family member who sacrificed to save a furry life?
  • Create a team page under our online fundraising event on Crowdrise.com. Include an example (or several!) of how the person or pet you know has been heroic.
  • Share the fundraising page link with friends, family, everyone! Encourage them to join your team, to donate and to share their own rescue stories. You might win a prize, and homeless animals in our community win with each new team member, donation, and share!
Every team that raises $25+ by October 13th gets 1 Humane Hero shirt, 1 Humane Hero Mission Pass and 1 Mini Superhero Photo Shoot at Walk & Wag!
