How old do you have to be to volunteer?

Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age to volunteer for LCHS.

If I’m a student, do I have to have a parent or guardian come with me?

No, not if you are at least 16 years of age.

Does LCHS have volunteer opportunities for groups?

Our group opportunities are generally project-based, and dependent on the size of your group. If you have a group that is interested in volunteering at our facility for a project, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator.

Is there a dress code for volunteers?

We ask that our volunteers wear long pants, close-toed shoes, and t-shirts with sleeves. Do not wear shorts, flip flops, tank tops, or bare mid-riff shirts.

Does LCHS have a summer volunteer program for students?

We have summer program geared toward high school student attempting to complete volunteer hours for Bright Futures Scholarships. If you are interested in this program, please fill out a Volunteer Application

Do I have to volunteer a certain number of hours?

We encourage our volunteers to make a commitment of 2 hours per week for at least the first three months. This ensures that the volunteers have a good understanding of LCHS policy and procedures.

When can I volunteer?

LCHS is open to its volunteers from 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday, and on select hours during the weekend for Kitty Kare volunteers. After you have completed a Volunteer Application and interviewed with the Volunteer Coordinator, your will recieve your individualized volunteering schedule.

Can I volunteer for LCHS at any other location besides 413 Timberlane Road?

Yes, LCHS has many events for you to participate in, and through our weekly newsletter you will be kept up to date with those opportunities.

Do you have a program for court-ordered community service hours?

If you need court-ordered community service hours you will need to speak directly to our Volunteer Coordinator. We accept court-ordered volunteering on a limited basis.
