Spay/Neuter Programs

Currently, LCHS has a Spay/Neuter grant, the Amberlita Fund, available for residents of Leon County residents. The Amberlita Fund, generously donated by Bettina Krone, provides spay/neuter vouchers to help reduce feline overpopulation in Tallahassee.

If you live in Leon County, this grant can help you get your cat fixed for $10, and includes a rabies shot!

To get your voucher, apply in person at the LCHS office at 413 Timberlane Road during office hours (M-Th, 10am-5pm, F 10am-1pm). It only takes 15 minutes, and you can make your appointment at the vet as soon as you have your voucher!

Have a question? Contact the LCHS office at (850) 224-9193.

Spaying and neutering of pets is one critical solution to pet overpopulation. In this country, 575 pets are euthanized every hour because there simply are not enough homes. The LCHS promotes spay and neuter through educational programs and provides free and reduced cost spay/neuter surgeries through a variety of special grant programs.

Be the Solution, Inc.

This local organization provides Tallahassee residents with low cost spay and neuter surgeries for companion animals. They raise funds to finance the surgeries through on-line and mail-in donations and community fundraisers.

If you meet their voucher requirements, you can have you pet "fixed" with just a $5 co-pay.
