Meet Shannon Colavecchio, Our 2018 Tally Top Single!

The Leon County Humane Society is honored to have been selected as the beneficiary organization by Tallahassee Magazine's 2018 Top Single, Shannon Colavecchio!

Shannon is fur-mom to two rescue pups, including Lady Bear, who was rescued by the Leon County Humane Society in 2016 along with the rest of her litter and Mama Lucy. She also fosters for LCHS, and is a foster mom to humans.

Shannon owns BA Fitness in Midtown, and works at The Moore Agency as a Senior Director and Wellness Coordinator. Shannon chose LCHS as her designated charity for Tallahassee Top Singles 2018 because rescuing dogs taught her that her heart was ready to be a foster mom to children - and because she has seen how much foster pups and foster children have in common when it comes to their hearts - and what love and patience can do to heal them. Shannon has helped raise money for LCHS a few times over the past few years, through the annual calendar contest and most recently to help with Veronica the puppy's care.

Shannon has set up yappy hour events at both The Blu Halo on June 9 from 5:30pm - 7:30pm and Aloft Tallahassee Downtown on June 28 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. Additionally, she has created a special after-hours at Elle Market on June 6 from 5:30-7pm called Sip, Shop, Save the Furries. A portion of the proceeds from all three events will benefit LCHS.
