Show Mom You Care & Sponsor a Sweetheart for Mother's Day

We have the purr-fect Mother's Day gift for the Mom in your life.

Our Sponsor a Sweetheart program makes it simple and meaningful to honor the love of a mother by helping to rehabilitate a special foster pet. Just choose the animal that speaks to your heart below, make a donation to help with the care of the foster pet, and enter the name and email of the person you want to honor.

LCHS will send you a printable (pdf) certificate with the animal's story and picture. You can print it and personalize it just in time for Mother's Day! We will even send your Mom a personalized note on May 8, 2016.

Please sponsor one of these special pets and show Mom you care with this thoughtful gift. Any size donation will help save a life!

Buttercup

Buttercup

Buttercup and her litter were left on the doorstep of a small rural shelter without their mom at only 2 weeks old. Every year, LCHS takes in dozens of bottle babies like Buttercup and nurses them through infancy, hand-raising these babies until they are old enough to be adopted. In just a few short weeks, Buttercup will be ready for adoption, and another orphaned kitten will take her place in her foster mom’s home. Sponsor Buttercup »

Ellie

Ellie

This sweet senior girl ended up in a shelter at 7 years old with a deep loneliness in her eyes and a terror of men. Her LCHS foster family raves about her good manners and relaxed couch potato leanings. But poor Ellie suffered some trauma in her past and it has left it’s mark on her. She is looking for just the right home that will treasure her quiet, loyal love and give her a peaceful place to enjoy her golden years. Sponsor Ellie »

Ladybug

Ladybug

Ladybug was returned five years after being adopted when her owner could no longer afford to care for her. This incredibly affectionate girl LOVES to be petted and will crawl into your lap immediately. Ladybug has a sensitive digestive system and needs a special diet. She has been looking for the right home for a long time, but we know that soon the perfect person will see how special she is and give her a home. Sponsor Ladybug »

Sorrel

Sorrel

This little schnauzer mix puppy had a rough start, ending up at a rural shelter with very few resources or space where she had nearly zero chance of being adopted. Fortunately, due to our partnerships with these type of small, overwhelmed shelters, we were able to take both Sorrel and several others. Now she is in a foster home and on her way to finding her forever family! Sponsor Sorrel »
