We need all kinds of help for our largest fundraiser of the year, Kitty Glitter!

Week of Kitty Glitter

Week before Kitty Glitter - Monday, April 13th- Friday, April 17th, from 10:00AM- 5:00PM

  • Assist packing bins with supplies for the event! Bins will made by event station (i.e. Silent Auction- Purses, Check-in, Kitchen, etc), and number according to their location on the event layout map.
  • Load the LCHS van and Subaru with packed bins by event station location.

Week of Kitty Glitter - Monday, April 20th, from 10:00AM- 5:00PM

  • Load remaining bins into vehicles and trucks.
  • Drive vehicles to Goodwood Museum and Gardens before 5:00PM to stay overnight.

 

Day of Kitty Glitter

THE KITTY GLITTER ORIENTATION IS MANDATORY FOR ALL VOLUNTEERS WORKING THE DAY OF THE EVENT

Orientation Schedule: Saturday, April 18th, from 10:00AM- 11:30AM, 12:00PM- 1:30PM, & 2:00PM- 3:30PM. Other dates may be arranged by request.

Dress code: Business casual, all black or black and white with comfortable shoes and layers. Name tags will be provided at volunteer check-in.

Bidding: Volunteers that wish to bid on silent auction items and working the event do not need to purchase an event ticket. You will be provided with a wrist band/ bidder identification number when you check-in for your shift.

 

Day of Kitty Glitter - Tuesday, April 21st- 8:00AM- 12:00PM, Event Set-Up

  • Meet at Goodwood Museum and Gardens to unload vehicles and begin to place items, including table cloths.
  • Ice drinks and set –up bar and kitchen.
  • Number of Volunteers Needed: 20

 

Day of Kitty Glitter - Tuesday, April 21st-12:00PM- 4:00PM, Continued Event Set-Up

  • Continue setting out all items.
  • Plate passed appetizers.
  • Set-up Check-in and remaining stations.
  • Number of Volunteers Needed: 20

 

Run of Event

Event Check-In - Tuesday, April 21st - 4:30PM- 9:15PM, Primary Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests as they arrive
  • Assist guests who have pre-purchased tickets, are sponsors or VIP
  • Assist guests buying tickets at the door
  • Provide direction to guests
  • Working Environment:
  • Outside, uncovered
  • 3 hours or more of sitting and standing
  • Number of Volunteers Needed:
  • 4 to check-in guests
  • 1 to greet and orient guests as they arrive

 

Tallahassee Magazine Photo Booth - Tuesday, April 21st - 4:30PM- 9:15PM, Primary Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests as they arrive
  • Acquire names and email addresses for pictures
  • Assist with prop selection for photos
  • Working Environment:
  • Outside, uncovered
  • 3 hours or more of sitting and standing
  • Number of Volunteers Needed:
  • 1 to assist with props
  • 1 to take photographs

 

Buy-it-Now/ Raffle Table/ Cashier Station - Tuesday, April 21st - 4:30PM- 9:15PM, Primary Responsibilities:

  • Promote and sell raffle tickets
  • Assist guests with the Buy-It-Now process
  • Assist guests with the $5 table purchases and items
  • Working Environment:
  • Inside, with loud music and dimmed lighting
  • 3 hours or more of sitting and standing
  • Number of Volunteers Needed:
  • 1 to assist with the raffle and $5 table item purchases.

 

Silent Auction Item and $5 Table Item Monitoring - Tuesday, April 21st - 4:30PM- 9:15PM, Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitor Silent Auction tables and encourage guests to bid
  • Answer questions regarding the bidding process
  • Answer questions regarding the event timing, logistics, etc.
  • Assist guest who wish to purchase an item now (escort to Buy-It-Now table)
  • Assist with silent auction closure
  • Working Environment:
  • Inside, with loud music and dimmed lighting
  • Outside, men’s interests table near a Cigar Bar
  • 3 hours or more of standing (breaks provided)
  • Number of Volunteers Needed:
  • 24 volunteers

 

Silent Auction Reconciliation - Tuesday, April 21st - 4:30PM- 9:15PM, Primary Responsibilities:

  • Highlighting auction item winners on each spreadsheet
  • Pulling bid cards from the tables
  • Reconciling winners from all tables, including fund-a-need and total amount due for each bidder id number
  • Pulling silent auction items and bagging them to go
  • Assisting LCHS Staff and Guests as they check-out
  • Working Environment:
  • Fast paced! Literally. We have 30 minutes to reconcile all the items before the fashion show ends.
  • Inside, with loud music and dimmed lighting and Outdoor, with dimmed lighting in the elements
  • Number of Volunteers Needed:
  • 5 volunteers

 

Kitchen and Serving Volunteers - Tuesday, April 21st - 4:30PM- 9:15PM, Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plate passed appetizers
  • Refresh ice, plates, napkins, utensils on display
  • Refresh appetizers and dishes on display
  • Working Environment:
  • Indoor in a kitchen
  • Standing and walking for several hours
  • Number of Volunteers Needed:
  • 2 Volunteers to plate and display food and drinks
  • 8 Volunteers to pass pre-plated appetizers and refresh food, drink and plastic wear displays
  • 2 Bartenders

 

Fashion Show Volunteer - Tuesday, April 21st - 4:30PM- 9:15PM, Primary Responsibilities:

  • Tend to the models and Marsha Doll
  • Tend to the DJ
  • Assist with Model- Foster Animal pairing
  • Working Environment:
  • Inside, with loud music and dimmed lighting
  • 3 hours or more of sitting or standing (breaks provided)
  • Number of Volunteers Needed: 1

 

Relief Volunteers - Tuesday, April 21st - 4:30PM- 9:15PM, Primary Responsibilities:

  • Check-in with other volunteers throughout the event to provide breaks as needed.
  • Working Environment:
  • Inside, with loud music and dimmed lighting
  • 3 hours or more of sitting or standing
  • Number of Volunteers Needed: 10

 

Post Event Clean-Up

Day of Kitty Glitter - Tuesday, April 21st - 8:30AM- 11:00PM, Post-Event Clean-Up

  • Breakdown tables, chairs and pack items into bins
  • Clean-up all event stations and load up the van and Subaru with supplies
  • Sweep the entire facility, including front and side porches
  • Number of Volunteers Needed: 20- as many as we can get!
