Take Me Home Adoption Event!
Animal lovers and many local pet rescue groups will come together to save lives at the North Florida Fair Grounds, January 12, 2013 from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. The “Take Me Home” pet adoption event will feature rescued dogs, puppies, cats & kittens that need to find life-time homes.
Local pet-friendly businesses will also be in attendance providing services, information, and free promotional items. Rescue groups in attendance will be: Last Hope Rescue, Big Dog Rescue, Leon County Humane Society, Tallahassee Animal Services (Shelter), Capitol ARK, Cauzican Care, North Florida Rescue, Animal Aid and V.O.C.A.L.
A few of the EXCITING activities that will be available include:
- Local pet vendors providing free promotional items
- Local business food trucks providing great alternative lunch options
- Demonstrations performed by the Tallahassee Dog Obedience Club
- A drawing will be available including: pet related items, gift cards to local businesses, handmade items, massage gift certificates, grooming certificates, and more! Proceeds benefit the 501c3 groups in attendance.
- Be The Solution Inc., will be distributing discounted spay and neuter vouchers for your pets.
The public is encouraged to bring donated items, such as new or used sheets, blankets, towels, dog and cat crates, dog or cat food anything that will benefit the local rescue groups, and new pet owners.
Our goal is to have every pet adopted that needs a home on this day.

5 cats and 5 dogs were adopted from LCHS during the event, and along with TLCASC and other rescue groups a total of 40 animals found their forever homes!
