Where There's a Will...There's a Way!

Bequests are one of the most important kinds of contributions that charitable organizations can receive. The Leon County Humane Society (LCHS) has been in existence since 1960, and our longevity is due in a large part to the generosity of those in our community who have included LCHS in their estate planning. Planned giving can be a truly lasting legacy for homeless animals.

There are many ways you can personalize giving:

• LCHS can be named in your will for a specific amount or a percentage of your estate
• Real Property- land or other types of property can be donated to LCHS
• Insurance Policies - you may designate the LCHS as the beneficiary of your policy
• Stocks and Bonds - Appreciated value stocks offer a tax savings and can double (and triple!) an intended gift to charities

Remember, whichever option you choose, contact your attorney or financial planning advisor first. Their advice can help plan the goal you wish to reach. Charitable gifts can be made at any time - they are a way to remember special people and special pets who may be gone but not forgotten.
