We hope you will join us for any or all of the myriad of events and fundraisers we hold throughout the year. If you are an animal lover, chances are we have an event you'll enjoy!

Adoption Booths are held on the first and third Saturdays of every month from 11 am to 4 pm at the Tallahassee PetSmart, 3220 Capital Circle NE. They are a great opportunity to meet some of our dogs and cats (and puppies and kittens) all looking for homes of their own. See our Calendar of Events for all the dates!

Tune your radio to 98.9 every Friday morning between 9 and 10 am for Furry Friends Friday! Hosted each week by Star98’s John & Tammy, and of course Big Carl, Furry Friends Friday features a companion animal from our Foster and Adoption Program as well as news about LCHS events and activities.

Several times each year, LCHS joins with other area rescues and shelters for special “super-sized” adoption events such as “Pet Time Tallahassee” on Sunday, April 1, and National Adoption Weekends (adoptathons) at PetSmart in February, May, September and November. The Fabulous Fur Ball is the Leon County Humane Society’s biggest annual fundraiser and Tallahassee’s Favorite Party for the Animals! Held each year in October, the Fur Ball is a great evening of cocktails, dining, dancing, fun-filled activities, presentation of the Purple Paw Awards and the Best Silent Auction in Town. Participating in the costume contest is optional, but with themes like “Harry Pawter and the Goblet of Fur,” “Tails of the Old West,” and “Pawrates of the Caribbean, how can you resist? Best of all, proceeds benefit homeless animals in our community. Sponsorship opportunities are available.

The Paw Prints Calendar is one of our most popular annual fundraising projects. The calendars themselves feature hundreds of photos of dogs, cats, kittens, puppies, horses and even the occasional llama or turtle. Paw Prints calendars are a cheery way to stay on schedule and they make perfect holiday gifts for all the animal lovers on your list.

LCHS Dog Wash Fundraisers are famous! And they're the best deal in town. For only $10, your dog is lovingly washed, towel dried and optionally flea-dipped by some of the most enthusiastic volunteers around. Look for the first Dog Wash of 2012 on April 14th!
